Shanghai Technology Innovation Center delegation visit London to secure the cooperation with CENTI

On June 14, the delegation from Shanghai Technology Innovation Center came to visit London branch of CENTI Group (China – Europe Networks Technology and Innovation Limited). The representatives included Mr. Zheng Shi, the Minister of Shanghai Technology Innovation Center, Mrs. Xuerong Zhang the Deputy Minister of Shanghai Technology Innovation Center, the Assistant Dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship College in Shanghai University, Mr. Xinyuan Xu and Mr. Yanji Huang, the Operation Director of National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center. The partner of CENTI, Patrick Gao warmly welcome the visit of the delegation.



After the communication of the development and current focuses of CENTI Group, Minister Shi stated that, “Shanghai Technology Innovation Center had high expectations for CENTI. And Shanghai is eager to technology and talents from Europe.” Faced with the chances in the market, Chinese government is formulating policies to promote the China-Europe investment projects. In addition, he said that, “on November 11, 2010, with the implementation of Shanghai's overseas high-level talent plan, Shanghai Technology Innovation Center will provide all aspects of financial support to overseas entrepreneurs.”



At present, Shanghai Technology Innovation Center has helped more than 3,000 overseas companies to land in China. At the same time, they would also need CENTI to help both sides(China and Europe)to understand each other's needs.



The Assistant Dean of Innovation and Entrepreneurship College, Shanghai University, Mr. Xinyuan Xu, said that Shanghai University had cooperated with Cambridge Scientific Instruments Company in UK.

At present, the chemical instrument analysis specialty of Shanghai University has established a science and technology incubation center. At the same time, Mr. Xu expressed his strong desire for cooperation between British universities and British-funded enterprises.

He added that Shanghai University began to introduce advanced British testing instruments for commodity inspection in China. In the meanwhile, they also started to help British-funded enterprises solve the problem of products which are not meeting Chinese standards. At the same time, they also help foreign-funded projects to understand China's market in many ways.

Next, Mr. Peng Gao, partner of CENTI, introduced the major projects that CENTI is currently working on, including cooperation with tech communities in UK and Europe like Global Tech Advocates, TechUK and etc. He believes that the strong appeal of the China-EU technology connections would help to establish further collaboration in investment and incubation areas.


Finally, Minister Shi Zheng emphasized that currently Shanghai is also seeking the opportunities from oversea, especially from Europe. More importantly, Shanghai's innovation and entrepreneurial environment and resources are second to none in China. He hoped to cooperate with CENTI team at home and abroad to carry out all-round docking of fund carrier services. It is believed that CENTI will be the best platform to deepen the connection between Shanghai and Europe in technology and investment.
